How on earth do you make an 11 month old sit still for photos? Every time Maya sees the camera she lunges for it. It makes taking photos of her very difficult. Actually it makes taking photos of anything with her nearby very difficult!
Just get a look at those tiny but terrifying teeth!
Anyway back to the creative stuff, I crocheted this sleeveless jacket for her on the weekend.
It was inspired by a top I saw someone wearing on tv and inspired by Leonie’s wrap.
It’s another ... one made without a pattern. I simply crocheted a circle and “added” a couple of slits for armholes.
I made a prototype with calico first to get the right size for Maya, then started hooking from the centre, ending with a scalloped edge and finished off with a wooden toggle button (raided from Khye’s threading beads - he’s most upset and wants me to take it off - I’m hoping he forgets about it).
I love it and now I want to make one for myself!
I’ve also been joining my triangles this week.

It´s so beautiful! Great work!
I love it! A mummy-sized one will be just the ticket.
You obviously need to set a very fast shutter speed - but you can still see how lovely the jacket is on her!
So cute, dare I add it to the ever growing list of baby creations I have ha ha..The triangles are cute too. I so need to drag mine back out and get going on them..
Beautiful little jacket - what a great idea! I know what you mean about little kids and photos - I remember trying to get passport photos of my kids at that age! It does get easier - mine LOVE posing for the camera now, a few years on!!
Gorgeous little jacket. I used to go for the suprise factor and tried sneaking up on the unaware infant to try and get a shot that included a face without blurriness. There is definately an art to it and I certainly haven't perfected it!
oh that is soooo cute!! And funny too! I can't get my little girl (16 months) to sit still either!! Wait till she's walking... you'll never get a clear photo again ;)
The jacket looks great and without a pattern that's fantastic. Love the pics of your little one.:)
What a cute little jacket...just perfect for your sweet little poppet :-) I love the bright colours of those triangles too!
Your little cardi is gorgeous...as is your little model! I give my little one something she rarely gets to touch...like my jewelry box, mobile phone...to get her to sit still. So clever of you just to make that up! :)
gorgeous jacket.. Love the triangles too. Your little model is adorable :-)
This one is adorable <3
oh my, that is gorgeous!
Love the little cardi! and the little model. I have the same problem photographing my 10 month old!
Someday were going to talk about one for me I'm saving!!!
That cardi is so sweet, well done. sometimes the improvised projects turn out the best. My Emma never stays still either. Have hardly had a decent photo of her for 6 months
